Tim Tyrell-Smith leads brand marketing and communications for Kareo. He holds responsibility for brand management, public relations, advertising, social media and investor relations, his job is to make the Kareo brand and its products and services a bit more famous each and every day.
With a classically trained background in the packaged goods world and a skill for building premium brands across a spectrum of other diverse industries, Tim brings a unique perspective to his role at Kareo. He received his brand management training at Nestle—the world’s largest food company—and honed his skills with smaller, more nimble companies over the years. In addition to his traditional brand management experience, Tim brings a passion for helping small businesses (and its people) succeed. Recently, as a brand and social marketing consultant, Tim worked closely with small business owners to drive awareness and excitement with their target customers. This was very rewarding work and one of the reasons Tim decided to join the team at Kareo.
When not at the office, Tim is husband and dad who also loves to blog on careers and marketing and enjoys speaking to live audiences on brand strategy and creating tools to help people do great things. On the weekends, you might see him hovering over the engine (or paint) of his 1974 Triumph TR6. And, as you might guess, he also likes to go for a drive. Tim got his undergrad degree in English from San Diego State University and his MBA from Saint Mary’s College of California.
