New “B2C” Track to Debut at HITMC18 for Healthcare Providers

For the first time ever, this year’s Healthcare IT Marketing & PR Conference (HITMC18) will feature an educational track that focuses on the patient and consumer side of healthcare. This new track is aimed at marketing, PR and communication professionals that work at hospitals and physician practices along with agencies that serve both these types of organizations.

There are 10 breakout sessions in this new “B2C” track, including:

Other presenters include Influence Health, DataFile Technologies and Brandigo.

Why have we added this B2C track? Over the past 5 years, something strange-and-good has been happening at HITMC. Every year more and more attendees have come from hospitals, physician and agencies that specialize on healthcare organizations rather than HealthIT.

Based on conversations with these attendees, we decided this year to put energy and effort into developing a track that would be valuable for this group. To help us, we recruited an expert in B2C healthcare marketing – Dan Dunlop, Principal at Jennings.

Dan is a nationally recognized expert in healthcare marketing. He was a faculty member for the Society for Healthcare Strategy and Market Development (SHSMD), the Healthcare Marketing Strategises Summit, the PRSA Health Academy and the Physician Strategies Summit. He is a board member of the New England Society for Healthcare Communications. Dan blogs regularly and is very active on Twitter under his handle @dandunlop

Working together with John Lynn and I, Dan plus his team at Jennings have helped shape the healthcare provider program for HITMC18. All of us are excited for the debut of this program. Our goal is to bring that same sense of community that we have created for marketing and PR professionals involved in Health IT to those that work with healthcare providers, patients and consumers.

If you are a marketer, PR or communications professional and you work in a healthcare organization, you definitely need to come to HITMC18. You will come away from the conference with valuable take-aways (encapsulated in an e-book exclusive to HITMC attendees) and new friends that you can turn to for help/advice with your upcoming projects.

To make it a little easier, here is a special discount code that will save you $200 off registration: HITMCB2C. Just enter the code when you register. Note: You must work at a healthcare provider organization to use this discount code.

For those B2B healthcare marketers out there, don’t worry. We’ll still have over 30 sessions focused on B2B healthcare marketing. Plus, we’ll all benefit from learning and sharing the experiences from those outside our industry.
