Linda K. Kenney
Director, Peer Support Programs

In her new role at the Betsy Lehman Center, Ms. Kenney is working to establish a Clinician and Peer Support Program in each of fifteen hospital in Massachusetts as part of a pilot effort to ensure that, over time, all medical professionals and staff in the state have a support system to help them cope with adverse events and patient harm.  At the same time, she will develop and direct a Patient and Family Peer Support Network to serve residents across the Commonwealth affected by adverse medical events. Founder and former Executive Director of Medically Induced Trauma Support Services (MITSS) and Linda was the first consumer graduate of the HRET/AHA Patient Safety Leadership Fellowship.  That same year, she was the recipient of the National Patient Safety Foundation’s Socius Award, an annual award given in recognition of effective partnering in pursuit of patient safety. She has authored and contributed to a number of publications on topics including the emotional impact of adverse events on patients, families, and clinicians.  Ms. Kenney also serves on the board of Massachusetts Coalition for the Prevention of Medical Errors and she is a member of the Mass.
